    Allan Bertie is a Managing Director in GCA Savvian’s London office. He started his banking career with Schroders in 1992, having qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG. Allan joined DLJ in 1998 and then Credit Suisse following its acquisition of DLJ. In 2003, he joined Bridgewell and assisted in growing the advisory business before joining Dresdner Kleinwort in 2006. Allan has been involved in a wide range of transactions covering public and private M&A and capital raisings in a number of jurisdictions. Whilst he has completed a number of transactions in the industrials, healthcare services and consumer sectors, his most recent focus has been on financial sponsor coverage at Dresdner Kleinwort. Notable transactions include advising Mexx on its sale to Liz Claiborne, LNM Group on an acquisition of a stake in Iscor and multiple transactions in the childcare sector. Allan received his B.Acc from the University of Glasgow.

    Jeremy Lucas is a Managing Director with GCA Savvian specializing in Mergers & Acquisitions. He has over 30 years of investment banking experience, joining the British bank Morgan Grenfell in 1978 after qualifying as a Solicitor with Denton Hall and Burgin. When Deutsche Bank acquired Morgan Grenfell in 1990, Jeremy continued working at Deutsche Bank, becoming Co-Head of Mergers & Acquisitions there. Jeremy has managed a wide range of substantial public and private company transactions both in the UK and overseas, including numerous hostile and contested, as well as recommended, offers and defences in many different industry sectors. Notable recent transactions include DP World’s successful offer for P&O and British Vita’s recommended acquisition by TPG. Jeremy received his BA and MA degrees from Cambridge University, England.

    David Smith is a Managing Director in GCA Savvian’s London office. He started his banking career with Morgan Grenfell in 1993, having qualified as a Chartered Accountant in London and been seconded to Hong Kong with KPMG. David joined Salomon Smith Barney / Citigroup in 1998 and moved to Dresdner Kleinwort in 2006. David has managed a wide variety of public and private M&A transactions in the UK and overseas, including cross border deals. While he has focussed on M&A, he has also been involved in equity and debt issuance for corporates. His sector experience has spanned Technology, Pharmaceuticals, Medtech, and, most recently, General Industrials at Dresdner Kleinwort where he led the London based General Industrials M&A team. Notable recent transactions include Schaeffler / Continental, advising Melrose on its offer for FKI, acting for mefro in its approach to Titan Europe and acting for Allianz Capital Partners in its offer for John Laing. David received his BA from Exeter University.
