  • vCardToshiyuki Mitsuzawa (Tokyo)

    Toshiyuki Mitsuzawa is a Managing Director of GCA Savvian Corporation and Representative Director of GCA Savvian India Private Limited (India Office). Prior to joining GCA Savvian, Toshiyuki worked at Lazard Freres where he spent 3 years as a vice president of the Investment Banking Group. He focused on restructuring advisory (in-court/ out-of-court), M&A advisory and sales of non-performing loans held by Japanese mega banks. Prior to Lazard, he worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers Advisory where he specialized in M&A advisory and corporate restructuring (designing restructuring plans, negotiating with financial institutions and equity sponsors etc.). He also participated in various private equity fund raisings, one of which was initiated by Japanese mega banks, the first of its kind. Prior to joining PwC, he spent 9 years at Nissho Iwai Corporation (currently Sojitz Corporation), a leading trading company in Japan, where he was involved in credit risk management, domestic and cross-border work-out assignments for aircraft, automobiles, steel and chemical industries (North and South Americas and Southeast Asia), restructuring, M&A support services, documentation, designing litigation strategies, among others.

    Since joining GCA Savvian, Toshiyuki has engaged in various types of deals including the sale of a subsidiary company for a blue chip corporation, management consolidation with a purpose of industry reorganization, hostile takeover defense, MBO (management buyout), restructuring M&A (civil rehabilitation, corporate reorganization, restructuring ADR), cross-border M&A (North America, Europe, Southeast Asia, India China, etc.) and various others. He is also involved in providing acquisition advice to PE funds and advice on the sale of investment shares.

  • vCardTomoya Okada (Mumbai)

    Tomoya Okada is a Director of GCA Savvian Corporation and the Director of GCA Savvian India Private Limited.  A graduate of Aoyamagakuin University, he majored in International Politics, Economics and Business. After graduating, he began working for The Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi (currently Mitsubishi Tokyo UFJ Bank) as a corporate loan officer, and in 2003 he joined Mitsubishi Securities (currently Mitsubishi UFJ Securities) in 2003, where he since when he has specialized infocused on advisory on M&A advisory and Corporate Finance. He has worked with companies in many notable transactions so far cover industries such as including food service, logistics, transportation, and electric machinery and others, and he has in which he has advised on various types of transactions including acquisitions (including Tender offer bids), divestitures, and group restructurings. He joined GCA in July 2007.
     

  • vCardRo Umeda (Tokyo)

    Ro Umeda is Director of GCA Savvian Corporation and Director of GCA Savvian India Private Limited (India Office). He has been involved in financial advisory and corporate finance for over 10 years. He has significant expertise in cross-border M&A transactions between Japanese and Asian corporations, and has accumulated extensive industrial and regulatory knowledge and experience in Asian countries.

    Prior to joining GCA, he worked in the cross-border M&A Advisory department at Daiwa Securities SMBC. He also has experience with Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), where he was involved in corporate financing for various clients. While at SMBC, he was stationed in Bangkok supporting new investments and business expansion for Japanese corporations.

    Advisory deals include TOB in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand by Japanese corporations, equity participation in family businesses in Thailand by several Japanese corporations, sale of the Embassy Suites of LA, TOB by a Korean PE to a Japanese listed firm, sale of a Thai subsidiary of a Japanese electric manufacturer and others. Ro Umeda received a BA in Business and Commerce from Keio University and concurrently assumes the position of Director of GCA Savvian India Private Limited (India Office) from the Tokyo office.

  • vCardKazuyuki Yoda (Mumbai)

    Kazuyuki Yoda is an Associate of GCA Savvian Corporation. He joined GCA Savvian Group in January 2009. Prior to joining GCA Savvian Group, he worked for Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and ORIX Corporation. His work focused on middle market banking businesses, investment and credit evaluation, risk management, and M&A advisory services. He received a BA in law from Kyoto University.
